Year-Round Staff

Executive Director

Deacon Janie Hague

deaconjanie@campofthecross.com

Janie is originally from Mandan, ND. She worked at Camp of the Cross in the summers during high school and college. She graduated from the University of Mary in 2012. After college, she worked at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bismarck until 2018. While working at Lord of Life, she attended Seminary online at Luther Seminary in St. Paul and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Children, Youth, and Family Ministry. She was ordained as a Deacon in June of 2021, and before joining Camp of the Cross, she worked as the Director of Discipleship at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Bismarck.

Ministry through Camp is no stranger to Janie. She has a strong passion for people to experience God through camping ministry. Being able to worship outside and experience the love and grace of God in nature is an encounter that she hopes everyone can experience in their lifetime.

In her free time, Janie loves to go camping, spend time with family and friends, make greeting cards, crochet, and of course, spend time with her fur babies: two Golden Retrievers named Marti & Maggie, and a very opinionated Siamese cat named Sophia.
